Paige W. Pierce brings over 25 years of senior level investment industry experience
with major corporate entities and regional firms in the North American capital markets
to RW Smith. Ms. Pierce is an experienced, innovative and visionary
hands-on strategic planner. She has extensive trading and sales, compliance, operational,
business and product development, as well as strategic partner development experience
both domestically and internationally. In her current position she oversees the
growth and strategy of the firm, works closely with industry regulatory agencies,
and continues to focus on ensuring retail-focused firms have access to market pricing,
information flow, extended distribution, transparency and the wholesale market.
Prior to rejoining RW Smith, Ms. Pierce served as Chief Financial Officer of Agincourt, Ltd., a Bermuda-based NASD member broker-dealer that designs structured securities products for the fixed income institutional market in the United States and abroad. At Agincourt she supported the firm’s investment banking activities for both tax-exempt and taxable issuers, operational management and strategic planning.
Preceding Agincourt, Ms. Pierce deepened her knowledge of and experience within the industry with positions as vice president and manager of portfolio operations at LaSalle National Bank/ABN-AMRO, where her broad range of responsibilities at the bank included taxable and tax-exempt financial control and securities operations, compliance, information system liaising, product development and customer service; chief financial officer at Lee Asset Management Company; and chief financial and operating officer at Ross Sinclaire & Associates, a full service broker-dealer.
Ms. Pierce was a founding principal and the Chief Financial and Operating Officer for RW Smith, an exclusive municipal securities broker’s broker. She developed and managed the firm’s operational, financial, compliance and systems departments. Ms. Pierce was also responsible for managing the firm’s successful move into the Midwest with the opening of the Chicago trading operation, RW Smith’s first branch office. She played a key role in establishing the firm as a regional industry leader.
Ms. Pierce began her financial career in 1983 at PaineWebber, Inc., moved on to People’s Bank of Washington and by the mid-80’s moved from her support position to one of regional operational management at Hammond, Peters & Smith, a municipal bond brokerage firm.
Ms. Pierce proudly and actively serves as a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association Small Firms Advisory Committee, Membership Committee, Municipal Executive Committee, Interdealer Brokers Advisory Committee, Municipal Broker’s Broker Committee, and Municipal Operations Committee. In 2008, Ms. Pierce was elected to serve on the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority District 3 Committee and is responsible for representing industry participants in the Intermountain West and Pacific Northwest region. In 2006, she was chosen by The Bond Market Association to represent the Small Firm sector of the municipal bond market in a Municipal and Credit Markets meeting with Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke. Ms. Pierce co-founded the Women in the Investment Industry PSA group, is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization, and is the Chair of the Pacific Region of the United States for the Young Presidents’ Organization Women’s International Network.
